Rolls

My mom send us the recipe for the delicious rolls with plums, and on the second try they were ready for the photo session.

Grass

This one was also shot last weekend on the farm. I was fascinated by this particular grass species for a while, it seems like it is very popular around. The white tops change interestingly depending on the light, and this sunset light looked promising for a photo.

Some remnants of the Hoe Down last week- trick with flash to have well lit both inside and outside, I think I did good job with it.

Framed
I just invested a few dollars in few digital frames collections (my husbands clicking and credit card :) ), so I will be probably overusing them from now on. I love how easy it is to apply them, invert colors if you need white rather then black… From the first time I saw this possibility, I wanted to use them, and finally I found affordable source. Today and tomorrow, two quite different photos, both with same frame (accident, I think this one just drew my attention)
Just another sunset

Marina

Between season premieres of my favorites TV shows and last worm, sunny days of summer, extending into fall, I have hard time keeping up with my blog. Luckily, there is still a bunch of interesting photos which don’t require much work to end up published here.

Just a peaceful sunset over marine. Shot on the evening bike ride along my favorite lake in the neighborhood.

In the blind

OK, I had a crazy week and a crazy weekend. I was at the Hoe Down yesterday, had taken 250 photos, after preliminary screening about 160 are left… And you know what? Nothing really exciting to put out on blog :( . Well, I always claimed people and events are simple not my thing, but I really tried. Anyway, I find this photo somewhat funny.

Focal length: 105 mm Shutter: 1/125 sec. ISO: 100 Aperture: f/5.6

Oh, and I have some complaining to do. The fact that I just upgraded to Lightroom 2 is not helping to speed up my organizing of photos. Why the heck I cannot make a sub-collection in a collection? Why I need to make a collection set? Why the collection set won’t allow me to have photos direclty in there, and sub-collections to accompany? Well, I need it that way! Why good things are being removed?!

Universal zoom

This post is few days overdue. For once, it was a real busy week and I wasn’t posting too regularly. Secondly, I was partially busy fixing my computer, partially taking new photos, so these somehow get lost in the crowd on new pictures.

Anyway, what I was going to say, is that for my birthday my husband presented me a new lens. As it happened to both of us already that we needed a tele and wide-angle for subsequent shots, and the time required to change from one to the other and back threatened not to get the shot at all, we decided a “universal” lens is required.

So, I am a proud owner of Nikkor 18-200 mm f/3.5-5.6. What I like about it in not only the range of focal length, but the vibration reduction. So far, I couldn’t take a decent picture of my very lively cat, not only because he simply hates a huge black eye aiming at him, but also I couldn’t keep the camera steady and it showed in longer focal length. But now…

Ace up-close

Lake beach

Somewhat different take on yesterday’s picture. I actually like it more, with no moon in sight. I guess if I didn’t know it was done at night, I wouldn’t have guessed. The light fog over the water was a nice addition to full moon that day.
