We have a great fall this year. It is unseasonably warm, with day temperature still in the high 70. There were a few nights with hardly above freezing, so the leaves started to turn, and we have whole spectrum of color around town. After observing it while driving to work, one evening I decided to go out and take some photographs. I didn’t consider that between my coming back from work and dinner and the sunset is maybe- half of an hour? It turned out to be nice walk around block, but hardly a photowalk I expected. But I had some favorites.
I took my 35 mm prime lens with me. It is a fast lens, and wide open f/1.4 was not only a great help with deteriorating light, but also provided a shallow depth of field, necessary to isolate subjects in a busy urban environment.
