I saw this image on somewhere on Gavin Gough web page or Twitter stream, I cannot recall now. But the original can be found on Cairo Photo Studio web site. Laste weekend, working in studio, I decided to do the remake of the image.
I wanted to put my own spin on it. I decided to use Lensbaby lens, thinking that coffee beans texture around the cup and plate will fade into blur, creating an interesting effect. It took a while to adjust the light in my studio for this set-up and eliminate underexposed shadows. It is also not particularly friendly to overhead shots, so I was hand-holding, high on a chair, trying to keep balance :).
