Ghosts of Nowomiejska

This image was patiently waiting in line to get published on blog. It was taken last summer when we spent few days visiting Warsaw. That evening, we had a dinner with friends, locals, and they took us for the late evening walk through the Old Town. I really enjoy walking the streets at night. There is less crowds, but most of all- the street lamps create unique atmosphere, both with color and light/shadow. The photographs have their appeal too, with longer shutter speed turning people into ghosts. And there are challenges as well- as I found out with whole series of images from that evening. No way to correct white balance, So I made the decision to put the entrance to the house on the left is as neutral as possible, which in turn made most of the remaining lights green. I find this effect very interesting.
