I am done for now with winter macro. Mostly because there is no winter here.
But before I force myself to shoot some studio macro at home, I thought to go back to this shot. The weekend with Pella Tulip time last year was the first time with new 85 mm macro lens. I was exploring tulips from inside and out, when this small insect walked into the frame. I like the contrast between his black body and the bright orange of the tulip. Also between his simple shape and the complex, decorative finish of the petals.
It was one of the images which go unnoticed the first time through, I even considered cloning out the beetle. And it grew on me.
