Airventure 2014 – night airshow

Last week, as it is our tradition by now, we spend at Oshkosh enjoying Airventure. Kind of like in this Chicken Wings comic strip. What a rollercoaster it was this year. First two days, with rain and shine in turns, I was so ready to go home. And then the rain stopped and things turned awesome. The balloon shows (first time the evening glow and Saturday morning launch), visit at Seabase, the air shows with some of my favorite performers and the most amazing light and music display there is – an evening fireworks. Each year they are getting even better, and this year the tribute to Paul Poberezny to music of Enya with choreographed fireworks – impossible to describe.

I took “only” 1800 photos, but still will take some time to sort through and share favorites. This one is going to be one of those, the fireworks rain falling on the airfield. The Beechcraft Bonanza is a great foreground subject – not only because their parking is in good spot on the viewing area, but it has strong, unique and recognizable silhouette. Bonanza it was.
