Along Calf Creek

I was stunned when I saw this image in my Lightroom catalog with images from our recent trip to Utah. Yes, I did have my IR filter with me, but so far I have not been successful in creating any good IR images with it. And here it was, an image with absolutely white trees, and behind them, a red rock. I have no clue what is the tree species, or why they rendered this way. Maybe it was just a harsh midday sun, under cloudless sky. But turning it B&W and few other sliders made it even more appealing.
