Mimicking itself

Today’s post comes in late. Life got in the way of my morning plans and this is the first time today I have time to even think about writing on blog.

I photographed this plant, dead for winter, last week during one of our long walks. It drew my attention, since there was not snow on the ground at this point, but it looked like it was covered with soft, white caps. On closer inspection, I found these were winter flower, soft and very photogenic.

I really like how the two branches mimic its shape and the image looks almost like reflection. I removed the color from the image, since it was not doing much, but I liked this bit warm tone of grass and plants in winter, so I added some of it back, leaving the plant, and white flowers, in shades of gray.
