The crown

I have to admit this Macro Monday took me by surprise. When I discovered the theme, it was too late to come up with something. I went deep into my archives to dig out this image. From the original post on creating those water drop abstracts, this image is three years old!

The setup was a bit complex, with dropping water “device”, two flashes with colorful gels and totally unexpected results. I have a collection of images of drops fallin, nearly touching the surface, towers when they fall, and those “crowns” or shapes when they create the splash and the wave. Great fun!
