Butterfly garden

As cliche as it becomes, I still enjoy going to butterfly gardens wherever I find them. This time, it was part of the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. Unlike in other places, the additional ticket to see butterflies was dirt cheap compared to garden general entrance, but I guess all in all it came down to the same…

It was a bit windy that day, so getting tack sharp images required some high ISO and several exposures. The butterflies were cooperative though, most of the time.

At first, I did not particularly liked this orange Julia butterfly (Dryas iulia). There was an abundance of yellow flowers under the tent, and it just did not look all that good for a photograph. I followed the butterflies some, and was able to get few I really liked.
