Skyhawk at Intrepid

Last week, we finally got to visit Intrepid Sea, Air and Space museum in NYC. We were thinking about for few years already, but it was either closed, renovated, or Tomasz did not have whole day off. This time, all things aligned and we went. And we spend there the whole day. We got just after opening at 10 am, had lunch on Third or Mess Deck, and left right before closing at 5 pm. We visited Concorde, Space Shuttle pavilion and submarine, walked on every deck available and took many photos.

Talking about photos- taking good photo in a museum can be a challenge. Yes, we have many pictures, slightly unsharp, quite noisy and full of “other tourist” who tend to have brighter closing than ours ;). Some of my favorites, like the one below, were taken first thing in the morning, where crowds were still getting there. Good angle to make it more interesting, high ISO (now with D800, I don’t worry to rise ISO up to 6400) and HDR to get as much info as I could. Did I mention how I love the new Radial Filter in Lightroom 5?
