Now that I can process the images on my computer, I can finally share some of the orchid photos from the beautiful exhibition at Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. I really enjoyed my time spent at the exhibit, the shapes and colors. I had to work arounds crowds of people going through there on Sunday afternoon, but I had time, and there where always breaks between bigger groups. THe only limitation was the overwhelming, sweet smell of those flowers. After almost an hour, I just had to leave, because I was getting a headache from it.
This is one of my favorite “large view” shots. I like how the three flowers naturally positioned themselves next to each other. Because other flowers are turned away and their pink lips are not as prominent, they do not draw the attention.
