Yellow calendulas

I have a small bed of wild flowers in front of the house. It finally made me go out in the afternoons on the weekday and shoot, even for 10, 15, 30 min. Sometimes it depends on light- if I came out too late, it gets dark quickly. Sometimes on the wind- if I see there is too much breeze, constant but not just gusts you can wait through- I will probably try a few slow shutter experiments and call it a day. But I made the first steps, as in those excellent and motivational posts on Digital Photography School last month- part 1 and part 2 on making time for photography. It was not difficult, and is very satisfying. And I can focus on the type of photography I seem to enjoy the most- flowers. It is the hardest one to pursue on “family” trips, it requires time, tripod, weather…
How about you? Do you often photograph on weekdays, giving up some of the lazy evenings in front of TV, or is it more a weekend passion, with more time and no rush?
