Boats of Eel Pond

Last week, I was in Woods Hole, MA for a conference. It is a very interesting town, full of tourists and marine scientists in summer. The place is home of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Marine Biological Laboratory, National Marine Fisheries Service, United States Geological Survey, Sea Education Association and Woods Hole Research Center. Across the Vineyard Sound, there is Martha’s Vineyard, best known of many islands in the area.

Early October is off season already in Woods Hole, even with temperatures in the seventies. The town made a slow and sleepy impression. Our lodging, in one of Marine Biology Laboratory buildings, was tight on the Eel Pond. I could just get up early enough to catch the sunrise, and just spend the golden hour photographing right there – which I did, daily. Here are few of my favorites.
