Thoughts on macro

I’ve got a new lens yesterday. I enjoyed shooting macro that the price of this lens did not justify renting it again and again. So, my new Nikkor 85 mm f/3.5 arrived yesterday when I was going out. It went with me, then. I wanted to try it out, and luckily there were few cooperating plants around the building. As I took so many pictures of pine cones before, that this brush with colorful leaves was a better option. I wish I now the name of this plant.
It was a little bit windy, which made it tricky to get a picture. Well, this combined with me shooting my Nikon D40x again, now when “Big Brother” is at the cleaning and repair shop. ISO 400 in D40 is about as high as I would feel comfortable going. And although the lens is f/3.5, without the tripod and really silent day I would not dare to use this aperture. Even with f/7.1 I was barely getting enough in focus. But it was a fun experience. And couple of keepers.
